Our Story
Viron Consulting Group, LLC was established in 2001 by Thomas Voss, R.P.G., LEED AP. Over the past several years, Viron has expanded its capabilities beyond environmental remediation work and developed a new forward-thinking strategy to provide sustainable solutions to broader environmental issues. Mr. Voss brings a unique perspective to sustainability and renewable energy. His collaborative philosophy and holistic approach to the energy problem begins by exploring how a client can lower their energy needs and then developing the right energy system to offset this decreased demand.
Viron takes great pride in its history of partnering with the leading contractors and distributors in the industry to deliver successful completion of projects while maintaining integrity and professionalism. Based on these guiding principles, Viron has built a team of industry-leading partners to collaborate on the designing and building of its renewable energy projects.
Our Founder
Thomas Voss, RPG, LEED AP - Principal
Mr. Voss brings more than 30 years of experience in the environmental field to his leadership of Viron Consulting Group, LLC (Viron). His career includes working with several locally and nationally recognized consulting firms and being the founder of two successful consulting organizations. Mr. Voss is currently the founder and principal partner of Viron Consulting Group, LLC located in Basking Ridge, NJ where he is responsible for the firm’s general management. His experience includes technical support for hydrogeologic investigations, soil and groundwater quality assessments, planning and supervising remedial investigations and feasibility studies, and designing and implementing groundwater remediation systems. His work is certified by state regulatory agencies, including the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).
As an industry veteran, Mr. Voss recognizes the importance of conserving our natural resources and protecting them from the negative impact of man-made contamination. Mr. Voss is an aggressive proponent of green design and sustainable programs where societies work in collaboration with nature and not against it. In 2007, Mr. Voss received his Green Advantage® environmental certification for building-related practitioners who are involved in construction projects adhering to the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). In 2009, Mr. Voss received his LEED AP® designation and has been utilizing this expertise by focusing his energies on the “greening” of businesses in New Jersey and beyond.
Mr. Voss is an active member of the Bernardsville Environmental Commission, the Bernardsville Green Team, and the Bernards Township Green Team. In all of these organizations, he is actively engaged in looking for ways to integrate green, sustainable practices into municipal agencies (e.g., Sustainable Jersey Program). His work as a member of the Bernardsville Environmental Commission and the Bernards Township Green Team includes successful collaboration on several significant renewable energy projects, including the development of solar energy installations at the Bernards Township Landfill (2,500 – 3,200 kW) and Bernards Township Sewerage Authority WWTP (800 kW).
